Canadian Music History Burns Bright: Reliving the CMHF 2025 Induction Ceremony on CBC Music
The Canadian Music Hall of Fame ceremony is always a night of emotion and historical significance, and the 2025 Induction Ceremony was no exception.
Held in May at Studio Bell, the event was a powerful tribute to Canada’s musical lineage, and fans across the country finally got to witness it when the full broadcast aired on CBC Music and CBC Gem in October.
Celebrating the Class of 2025
The 2025 class saw several Canadian icons enshrined, including multi-talented industry legends Dan Hill, the “grande dame of Québec song” Ginette Reno, rock superstars Glass Tiger, and eclectic Celtic singer/songwriter Loreena McKennitt. These four were officially inducted at the special spring ceremony in Calgary, joining the previously honoured Sum 41 and 2024 inductee Maestro Fresh Wes in the CMHF ranks.
The night, hosted by eight-time JUNO Award winner Paul Brandt, served as a poignant reminder of the wide-ranging influence Canadian artists have had on the global stage.
For music lovers, the broadcast was a must-watch celebration of talent, featuring moving speeches, dazzling performances, and emotional tributes that underscored the richness of Canada’s artistic heritage.
